Chuck Palahniuk is an American writer. He is the author of twelve best-selling novels, which have sold over five million copies in the US alone. He is perhaps best known for his first published novel Fight Club (1996), which was adapted for the screen by Academy Award nominee David Fincher, and stars Brad Pitt, Edward Norton and Helena Bonham Carter, which, along with the novel, has gone on to acquire cult status. He has confirmed that a sequel is in the works, which will take the form of a graphic novel. In addition to his fiction, noted for its idiosyncratic style and extreme content, Palahniuk is a freelance journalist, and has published a collection of his non-fiction writings, Stranger Than Fiction: True Stories (2004), and the autobiographical Fugitives and Refugees: A Walk in Portland, Oregon (2003). His latest novel, Doomed, is released in autumn 2013.
