Daughters of Eve
Nimco Ali is a social activist. Born in Somalia in the early 1980s, her family moved to Manchester when she was four. In 2010, Nimko along with psychotherapist Leyla Hussein founded Daughters of Eve. The non-profit organization was established to help young women and girls, with a focus on providing education and raising awareness on female genital mutilation (FGM). She serves also as a Network Coordinator for the End FGM/C Social Change Campaign. The program is sponsored by the UK government, with a mandate to eliminate FGM.
