Pen Vogler works in publishing and is the editor of Penguin's Great Food series. She has given talks and tastings on food in history, including on meals and dining in the Georgian era, throughout the UK. She has appeared on television, cooking and discussing recipes, including on Mrs Dickens' Family Christmas on BBC2 with Sue Perkins. She has also written on the subject for the Guardian, the Observer, and The Lady. Pen has published three books, the first Dinner with Mr. Darcy: Recipes Inspired by the Novels and Letters of Jane Austen was published in 2013. Her second, Tea with Jane Austen: Recipies Inspired by her Novels and Letters, was published in 2016 and in 2017 Pen published a Dickensian inspired book, Dinner with Dickens: Recipes Inspired by the Life and Work of Charles Dickens.
