Historical TV and films loosely based on real events are now the main sources of "historical knowledge" for many, but this trend poses many dangers. Historical knowledge is superficial and doesn't have the necessary context. Historical truth is all important and must be increasingly defended in this age. Hollywood's feels the need to claim that a film is somehow true, even when it is not based on a true version of events.
