Christiane Amanpour

Christiane Amanpour is CNN's chief international correspondent and anchor of the network's award-winning, flagship global affairs programme Amanpour. She has documented the bloody violence which has marked Iraq's recent history and exposed the brutality of the Bosnian War during the siege of Sarajevo. Amanpour has also secured exclusive interviews with global power players, including Tony Blair, Colonel Gaddafi, Hosni Mubarak, Hassan Rouhani and Dilma Rousseff. She is an active rights campaigner, an honorary citizen of Sarajevo, and a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Freedom of the Press and the Safety of Journalists.
